Change here for Brighton, comedy, music, and other destinations
I’m siphoning off Indie Brighton Listings to its own dedicated newsletter
Hello! I hope you’re all good, well, and decent, or indecent if that’s what you were going for.
What do they know of Brighton who Brighton only know?
For a while, I was using this newsletter to force my Brighton listings on you, my unsuspecting subscribers, even though some (many) of you don’t live anywhere near the city in question.
I then stopped doing them for a bit, due to things like cycling to Berlin and not really being in Brighton very much.
I’ve started them again, and I’d very much love you to go subscribe, if you have been enjoying them - even if you don’t live in Brighton.
Honestly, I don’t mind. There won’t be any Passport To Pimlico style border checks, or anything like that.
But if you find it useful, or know people who you think would find it useful, please do follow and spread the word.
As well as listings, there’ll be interviews, reviews, and all sorts of Brighton related shenanigans.
The weekly listings will always be free, but I’m hoping some people will sign up for the other stuff / to generally make the thing worthwhile time and effort wise, for I have recently learned that one needs money to acquire goods and services.
Just Like The Dude I Still Abide
So what does that mean for this newsletter? Well, it needs a new name, for start. Any ideas?
The plan is to make this a bit less bitty - or as non-bitty as someone with my kind of brain chemistry can manage - and focus more on longer stand-alone essays, rambles, and travelogues. I’ll write one a week. You can’t stop me. I’m excited, and I hope you are too.
One of the three remaining non-AI blogs
While I’m at it, as well as this newsletter, I have a personal blog which I frequently forget people can read, until they email me or WhatsApp me or talk at my face and say “I enjoyed that thing you wrote about X”. I then feel briefly threatened, violated, and stalked, until I remember: oh yes, that’s right, I posted these thoughts on the internet for everyone and anyone to read.
Do join these troubling, outrageously nosy people if you wish. The blog is both more frequent and less consistent than this newsletter. Recently I wrote there about my most recent music and comedy night, doomed letters of complaint to the BBC, and the terror of walking around an outlet shopping centre in Portsmouth.
That’s it for this week! Thanks for reading xx
